Auditions will be on May 4, 2015 from 6-7 PM in the CHS Band Room.  Auditions are "drop in", so come any time  – first come, first served.

Percussionists auditioning for jazz ensemble who are rising 9th graders must audition on May 5, 2015 for concert ensemble placement AND May 4, 2015  for jazz placement.  Please understand that there are rising tenth through twelfth graders auditioning as well for only a few places in both jazz bands.

For Rhythm Section auditions, you will be asked to play a prepared piece AND three appropriate styles etudes. The order of the audition will go like this:

Enter Room Play three appropriate styles etudes Play prepared piece, followed by 32 measures of an improvised solo WITH the play-a-long track.  (We will provide the play-a-long track for each audition)

Drummers – bring sticks Guitar, Bass Guitar – bring your instrument and a cable.  We will provide an amplifier Vibes – bring vibe mallets Piano – we will provide an instrument ALL STUDENTS AUDITIONING SHOULD BRING COPIES OF THEIR MUSIC!
